Feminine Energy in modern times
Where is she? Have I lost her forever?
I get asked this question in women’s circles, by friends, by my womb massage and coaching clients all the time. There’s a modern collective belief that the feminine cannot live in the big city. That is simply not true.
Where is she in the concrete jungle? How can you reconnect with it? Feminine energy, and earth principles is not a separate topic, it lives within us. We just need to learn how to recognise it.
What is Feminine energy?
There is an ancient, quiet wisdom that lives inside every woman.
A softness that is also strength.
A wildness that is also wisdom.
A knowing that doesn’t push… it flows.
This is the essence of the Divine Feminine—the energy of intuition, cycles, creativity, surrender, and deep embodiment.
She is the rhythm of the ocean, the pulse of the Earth, the voice of your womb.
She has never left you.
You simply drifted away… and now you are being called to remember.
How to recognise her energy?
The Feminine is the energy of:
Flow rather than force
Receiving instead of chasing
Presence instead of perfection
Intuition instead of overthinking
She is the water.
The Divine Masculine is the riverbank. (The distorted masculine is the energy of the Patriarchal world we live in, sadly it’s not balanced)
Together, they create balance.
She awakens when you give yourself permission to slow down… to feel… to be and also to be unapologetically you.
How are you shutting down Feminine Energy? (without even realising)
Most women today unintentionally disconnect from their Feminine because the world has conditioned us to override our nature:
Pushing through exhaustion
Ignoring our menstrual cycles
Silencing emotions
Feeling guilty for resting
Forgetting our connection with the Earth
Believing we must “do more” to be worthy
What does it feel like to have too much Masculine Energy in your life?
Most modern women—especially those living in big cities, with demanding jobs or fast-paced lifestyles (that was me 5 years ago!)—end up operating almost entirely from their masculine energy.
Not because they want to… but because the world rewards it.
When you’re in masculine overdrive, life feels like this:
Your mind races, your nervous system is alert.
Even when you rest, you don’t actually rest—You are always “on”.If you're not doing enough, achieving enough, or producing enough, you feel guilty.
You struggle to slow down: softness feels unsafe and strange.
You push through exhaustion
Caffeine replaces intuition, adrenaline replaces flow, your body becomes something you manage instead of something you listen to.
You feel disconnected from your emotions
You cannot cry
You don’t have “time to feel.”
You stay strong even when you’re breaking.Your cycle feels like an inconvenience
You plan around it, ignore it, or suppress it instead of flowing with it.
You feel uninspired, numb, or drained — like you’re running on logic instead of soul.
You are always the planner, the fixer, the one holding it all together.
Overgiving becomes normal, receiving becomes rare.Your body speaks through symptoms
Tight shoulders, jaw tension, burnout, low libido, irregular cycles, digestive issues
These are are signs of energy imbalance.
Signs that your Feminine energy is asking to return, to soften the edges, to breathe life back into your body.
Just remember, when Feminine Energy start to awaken within you. It’s not only about welcoming softness to your life but also about awakening a side of yourself that may have ben dormant. Someone more empowered, sovereign…the queen has entered the room—That is the realm of the dark feminine, aka, Priestess energy,
Here are a few gentle reflections you can start with:
Where am I pushing instead of flowing?
Where do I override my body’s signals?
Which parts of me need more softness, slowness, or nourishment?
Let these questions land in your body.
Awareness is the first step toward remembrance.
And 5 simple ways to reconnect with your Feminine Energy:
These practices are intentionally light, approachable, and doable in everyday life.
You don’t need hours.
You need presence.
5 minutes of silence when you wake up and after work.
A deep breath before responding to someone. Don’t react, be mindful, be present.
Put on a song and move however your body wants.
Walk barefoot.
Choose pleasure over pressure (Take a bath, read poetry, draw).
You don’t need to “do them all.”
Choose what feels light.
A gentle invitation
