Divine Feminine energy: What it is, how you've lost it and how to reconnect
Generations of women have been conditioned to silence their emotions, neglecting the freedom of movement and expression our bodies inherently possess. We've hidden our curves, restrained our voices, and suppressed our true nature to fit societal norms. Ask yourself, who are you when you betray your essence? Was your goddess energy placed in a box—or was it a cage?
In today's world, as modern women, you are free to act, dance, sing, and express yourselves authentically. Yet for many, this freedom feels overwhelming, forgetting how to embrace it.
In this blog:
We are goddesses. We've simply forgotten
We live in unprecedented times. Women from all backgrounds are awakening from a deep sleep, the divine feminine within everyone is reclaiming her voice.
Women are often thought to be naturally intuitive, so we have a head start in this kind of growth—but as a group, we're taught to hold back. Even if we know things deep down, we're not encouraged to act on that knowledge.
Society has ingrained in us the belief that we must always be strong. Many of us were raised to suppress our emotions, conform to expectations, and please everyone to maintain harmony.
Generation after generation, women has been conditioned to listen to our minds instead of our bodies and hearts. And I'll go further, we have been conditioned to forget about our second heart: our womb.
Our womb, our menstrual cycle, is divine and sacred and for the modern woman it's become taboo, strange, painful, dirty. It is no surprise that while the womb has been forgotten, our throats have been restrained too.
Reclaiming our true self and finding balance as a woman is a big initiatione. Who are you without the roles you play every day? Who are you beneath the conditioned mind? That’s the work, to remember what is to be in your Feminine.
A woman who reclaims her power, voice, and self-expression is an alchemist, capable of profound transformation. Only by working on yourselves can we create meaningful change in the world.
What is feminine energy?
I get asked this question in women's circles, by friends, by my womb massage and coaching clients all the time. There's a modern collective belief that the feminine cannot live in the big city. That is simply not true.
Where is she in the concrete jungle? How can you reconnect with her? Feminine energy and earth principles are not a separate topic, they live within us. We just need to learn how to recognise them.
There is an ancient, quiet wisdom that lives inside every woman.
A softness that is also strength.
A wildness that is also wisdom.
A knowing that doesn't push… it flows.
This is the essence of the divine feminine, the energy of intuition, cycles, creativity, surrender, and deep embodiment.
She is the rhythm of the ocean, the pulse of the Earth, the voice of your womb. She has never left you.
You simply drifted away… and now you are being called to remember.
The divine feminine lives within all of us. To some, that beautiful creative energy is simply dormant and don't worry, you can activate it. Connecting with the feminine energy often heightens your intuition and inner wisdom. You become more attuned to your inner guidance, allowing you to make decisions and navigate life with greater clarity and authenticity.
Embracing the divine feminine can help you accept and honour all aspects of yourself—including your emotions, intuition, and inherent worthiness. This acceptance leads to a sense of empowerment and confidence in your abilities and identity.
How to recognise her energy
The Feminine is the energy of:
Flow rather than force
Receiving instead of chasing
Presence instead of perfection
Intuition instead of overthinking
She is the water. The Divine Masculine is the riverbank. (The distorted masculine is the energy of the patriarchal world we live in, sadly, it's not balanced.) Together, they create balance.
She awakens when you give yourself permission to slow down… to feel… to be—and to be unapologetically you.
How the modern world silenced the feminine
The Divine Feminine manifests in various energies, none superior to the other, all inherent in each of us. Similar to the moon and its cycle, we undergo changes, shedding layers of what no longer serves us, making space for the emergence of new versions of ourselves ready to manifest.
And yet, the world we live in has not made it easy to stay in her.
Feminine energy is slow, rhythmic—it feels like a slow dance that is unique to each of us. Our journey in life is remembering that personal dance, because that dance is directly related to our purpose. If you're able to access that energy and reawaken it, you will open a realm of infinite possibilities, multidimensions, and joy.
But first, we have to recognise how we've been pulled away from her.
How are you shutting down your feminine energy?
Most women today unintentionally disconnect from their feminine because the world has conditioned us to override our nature:
Pushing through exhaustion
Ignoring our menstrual cycles
Silencing our emotions
Feeling guilty for resting
Forgetting our connection with the Earth
Believing we must "do more" to be worthy
What does too much masculine energy feel like?
Most modern women, especially those living in big cities, with demanding jobs or fast-paced lifestyles (that was me five years ago!)—end up operating almost entirely from their masculine energy.
Not because they want to… but because the world rewards it.
When you're in masculine overdrive, life feels like this:
Your mind races, your nervous system is always alert. Even when you rest, you don't actually rest — you are always "on."
You feel guilty for not doing enough. If you're not achieving or producing, something feels wrong.
You struggle to slow down. Softness feels unsafe and strange.
You push through exhaustion. Caffeine replaces intuition, adrenaline replaces flow, and your body becomes something you manage instead of something you listen to.
You feel disconnected from your emotions. You can't cry. You don't have "time to feel." You stay strong even when you're breaking.
Your cycle feels like an inconvenience. You plan around it, ignore it, or suppress it instead of flowing with it.
You feel uninspired, numb, or drained — like you're running on logic instead of soul.
You are always the planner, the fixer, the one holding it all together. Overgiving becomes normal, receiving becomes rare.
Your body speaks through symptoms — tight shoulders, jaw tension, burnout, low libido, irregular cycles, digestive issues.
These are signs of energy imbalance. Signs that your feminine energy is asking to return to soften the edges, to breathe life back into your body.
And just remember:
When feminine energy starts to awaken within you, it's not only about welcoming softness into your life. It's about awakening a side of yourself that may have been dormant—someone more empowered, more sovereign.
Gentle reflections to begin with
Let these questions land in your body. Awareness is the first step toward remembrance.
Where am I pushing instead of flowing?
Where do I override my body's signals?
Which parts of me need more softness, slowness, or nourishment?
Five simple ways to reconnect with your feminine energy
These practices are intentionally light, approachable, and doable in everyday life. You don't need hours. You need presence.
Five minutes of silence when you wake up and after work.
A deep breath before responding to someone. Don't react, be mindful, be present.
Put on a song and move however your body wants.
Walk barefoot.
Choose pleasure over pressure, take a bath, read poetry, draw.
You don't need to do them all. Choose what feels light.
Embodying the feminine isn't about becoming someone new. It's about remembering who you've always been.
You are your own medicine. Everything you are looking for lies — already — within you.
