Rainbow body & Energy centers
As an energy facilitator and Reiki master teacher one of the first ‘lessons’ I learnt was about the energy centers or Chakra system. But keep in mind that these 7 centers are the main ones but every part of our body has an energy center of it’s own.
“Chakra” is a word in Sanskrit, an ancient language from India, that means “wheel, spiral” or “cycle”. I prefer to call them energy centers as I will explain how these energy centers are related to the rainbow body and elements present in shamanic and mystic teachings.
For example when I give an Access Bars session to a client I’m working specifically with the energy field of the mind—related to belief systems, thought patterns, habits and stories we hold within this energy center. Dissipating the energy of this area can create a renewed flow of energy that translates as the discovery of infinite possibilities and an open mind for the client, bringing increased self-awareness and creativity. People basically start thinking outside the box!
The basics
I would say that having a basic understanding of energy centers can be very beneficial to anyone. It can potentially help you understand any imbalance you feel in your body and mind instead of spiraling down into lower emotions or self-judgment.
Energy centers influence physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. As an energy worker, familiarity with these centers helps me address the root causes of imbalances rather than just the symptoms. Some of my clients see colours during their energy healing sessions — it’s always amazing to hear them because the colours they see or perceive are usually related to the energy center I’ve been working on during the session.
To put it simply: different energy centers correspond to different aspects of a person’s health and well-being. For example, if a client is experiencing issues related to self-esteem, I can focus on the Solar Plexus.
Energy centers are not only tools for healing but also for personal growth and self-awareness. By understanding and working with our own chakras, we practitioners can maintain our own energetic balance, leading to personal development and improved well-being. This self-awareness enhances my ability to assist clients effectively.

The Rainbow lightbody
Since ancient times, the energy field of the human body has also been called the rainbow lightbody. From Tibetan monks to the Essenes and even early depictions in Christian paintings, the rainbow lightbody is a concept very present in many schools and lineages.
Then we have the colors of the chakra system, which are also a representation of the rainbow. In many mystical and shamanic traditions, the practitioner develops skills to expand the rainbow body that, over time and with practice and integration, increases in size — becoming a strong, expanded, and balanced energy field.
In my shamanic path, the rainbow is part of my studies because it is directly related to higher vibrational beings and my own energy field. The Munay-Ki Rites — a shamanic energy transmission—aim to initiate the student into working with their own rainbow body and the elements within us from a shamanic point of view.
In Andean shamanism, my lineage, the rainbow colours relate to the energy centers (like in the Chakra system) but also relate to the alchemical elements: earth, water, fire, and air—and even further, each colour and element relates to an animal spirit or master teacher.
The world of shamanism goes back to the beginning of time, being the very first type of energy healing modality that only now, in modern times, is being reclaimed by rainbow souls incarnated right now in human form. So it makes total sense that today, with access to so much information, integration is possible when we start to study and overlap and make connections between different beliefs and mystical schools.
The human body energy field
Everything in the universe, including you, is made of energy. Your energy field surrounds your body like a glowing bubble, constantly interacting with the world around you. This field is not just a vague concept—it has a specific shape known as the toroidal field.
Imagine a doughnut of energy flowing through you—moving up from your feet, out through your head, around your body, and back in through your feet again. This continuous movement keeps your energy flowing and balanced. The energy centers are aligned within your body from the root at the base of your spine to the top of your head and above it.
Energy field (toroid) and energy centers.
How to know when your energy field is not in harmony?
Notice when you start to feel heavy or when suddenly nothing in life feels exciting, everything feels slow, or there’s a radical change in your mood.
This means your energy field (or toroidal field) is shrinking, or your vibration has shifted, which affects the size of your energy field. There’s nothing wrong with that — we are energetic beings and we are constantly receiving input from our environment. Every piece of information (energy) affects your energy field and, by default, your body. This “information” includes everything we feed ourselves with: TV, news, social media, movies, conversations, family points of view, your boss, your partner, a concert, etc.
Why does the toroidal field shrinks?
Sometimes, our toroidal field becomes smaller or weaker. This can happen when:
We experience stress, fear, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion.
We are disconnected from nature and our inner self.
We take in too much external energy without replenishing our own. Give more that we receive
We hold on to limiting beliefs or past trauma. Many times stories are not even ours.
When this happens, we may feel tired, ungrounded, or disconnected. The good news? Reiki, Access Bars, coaching, grounding, laughter, play and conscious awareness help restore and expand our energy field, bringing us back to balance.
What can you do today to support your energy centers and energy field?
Start by nurturing the harmony between body, mind, and spirit. Your energy field reflects your internal stat —what you eat, think, feel, and expose yourself to.
Grounding and connection with nature help anchor your energy, reminding your system of its natural rhythm.
Hydration and nourishing foods keep your energy flowing with vitality.
Energy healing, movement, and rest regulate your nervous system, allowing energy to circulate freely.
Emotional awareness and release through journaling, sound, or somatic practices — prevent stagnation in your field.
Energetic hygiene: practices such as smoke cleansing, salt baths, and intentional visualization help clear external energies.
Spiritual alignment: meditation, prayer, energy healing, or connecting to your higher guidance — rebalances your centers with purpose and clarity.
Ultimately, supporting your energy field means living in presence, authenticity, and reverence for your own rhythm, allowing energy to move as nature intended.
